The book club was established in 2014 to encourage members to read books they might not ordinarily select. It meets the first Wednesday of the month at 2:00 p.m. in the card room/conference room at the SRPW clubhouse.
Books are supplied through the Ocean County Library system – there is no cost to participating individuals. A library card is required to participate in the club and a card may be obtained online at http://theoceancountylibrary.org. Once on the site, click on "Services" and select "Get A Library Card", there you can review the requirements and either apply for your card at any library branch or online.
Each year the Ocean County Library provides a list of available discussion books. Selections are made from the list for the upcoming year. For individuals with special needs, some books are available in large print.
Each member brings their copy of the current book to the meeting where it is discussed. They are then provided with the following month's selection.
Some reasons to join – meet new people, expand your horizons, reading is good for your brain, and sometimes we have food!
